Student Frequently Asked Questions

We offer online and in-person experiences in Global Public Health, including courses, research programs, and service learning opportunities abroad.

Yes. Each program offers a certificate upon completion. The Global Public Health Course provides a certificate for 7.5 hours of academic content, and the Research Program provides a certificate recognizing 30 hours of research-based engagement.

We offer both. The Global Public Health Course is self-paced, while the Research Program includes mentorship meetings. Service Learning programs take place on-site over two weeks.

Our programs are open to students and professionals in health or related fields. Most programs require at least an intermediate level of English.

Yes! Our online programs are open internationally. For in-person programs, students are responsible for obtaining the necessary travel documents.

You’ll have access to instructors, mentors, and a team that supports you. 

In our service learning programs, students are involved in a variety of public health activities such as observing local practices, conducting basic health assessments, delivering health education, assisting with basic services, making referrals, and engaging with community members. For research programs, students design and complete a full research project with mentor guidance.

Yes, Mission University can work directly with your school to help you use this program toward internship requirements, practicum hours, or academic credit, depending on your university’s policies. We’ll gladly provide documentation, evaluations, and learning objectives as needed. We encourage you to check with your university before making a payment, especially if you plan to use the course for academic purposes.

We will work with each student and/or academic program to customize a program that satisfies academic requirements and desired experiential outcomes.
