Dr. Elliott Goodman is an accomplished surgeon and medical educator with more than three decades of experience spanning clinical care, academic leadership, and international program development. He currently serves as Visiting Professor of Surgery at Bar-Ilan University and holds governance roles with Coventry University, East London NHS Foundation Trust, and Colindale Primary School. His recent leadership includes serving as Executive Dean and Professor of Surgery at GUS Medical and Veterinary Schools and Saba University School of Medicine, where he oversaw academic quality, faculty recruitment, and institutional growth across multiple campuses.
Prior to these appointments, Dr. Goodman held significant faculty and leadership positions at institutions such as the CUNY School of Medicine, Mount Sinai Health System, Bar-Ilan University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Montefiore Medical Center. His contributions have included directing surgical clerkships, leading quality improvement initiatives, and co-developing undergraduate medical education programs. He has also served on admissions and philanthropy committees, helping expand access to medical education and securing major funding for new campuses. Recognized with awards such as the Murry G. Fischer Surgical Educator Award and multiple teaching honors, Dr. Goodman is widely respected for advancing both surgical practice and the training of future physicians.
Dr. Goodman earned his Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences from Queens College, his MBBS in Clinical Medicine from the University of Cambridge, and later completed an MBA in Strategic Management and Leadership from Queen Mary University of London. A Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery and an active member of multiple professional associations, he also serves on editorial boards for leading surgical journals.
