Dr. Dale Cooper is a scientist, innovation strategist, and global business leader with more than three decades of experience advancing research, product development, and corporate strategy. He served as Director of Corporate Competitive Intelligence at Procter & Gamble, where for more than a decade he guided data-driven insights that informed growth opportunities and innovation strategies across the company’s global brands. Earlier in his career at P&G, he led North America’s Connect + Develop Innovation Hub, spearheaded bioscience business development efforts across the Americas, and contributed to the development of functional foods, nutraceuticals, and cosmeceuticals as a Principal Scientist.

Cooper’s scientific background and leadership in open innovation have positioned him at the forefront of translating research into impactful solutions in health, beauty, and consumer products. His work has consistently focused on identifying emerging technologies, forming strategic partnerships, and strengthening research pipelines that deliver both scientific advancement and real-world application. In addition to his corporate achievements, Cooper serves as a member of the Mission University Board of Directors, where he provides governance, strategic vision, and expertise in innovation and research translation.

Cooper earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Central Missouri and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Iowa State University, where his research focused on vitamin A metabolism. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Cornell University, conducting genetic research on lipoprotein lipase. With his blend of scientific expertise and corporate leadership, Cooper brings a critical perspective on research, innovation, and global health partnerships to Mission University’s Board of Directors.
