David Coyle brings a unique blend of military leadership, program management, and nonprofit service to the Mission University Board of Directors. He currently serves as Director of Program Management at Mercer Advisors, where he leads strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and long-term growth. In addition, he is a Board Member with Embracing You Inc., a nonprofit focused on advancing community well-being, and with the Global Education Ministries Foundation, where he helps expand international programming and health sciences education in alignment with the World Health Organization’s mission.
A decorated officer in the Virginia Army National Guard, Coyle has held senior leadership roles including Chief of Staff/Executive Officer and Director of Operations, overseeing battalion-level planning, logistics, and risk management for deployments of more than 250 soldiers. He is recognized for his ability to build teams, develop systems, and deliver results in high-stakes environments, including international missions. His career also includes service as Director of Strategic Execution and Chief of Future Operations with the 29th Infantry Division, where he led large-scale planning efforts for division-level operations involving over 10,000 personnel.
Coyle holds an MBA in Finance, Operations, and Strategy from the University of Washington, where he was a finalist in multiple global entrepreneurship competitions, as well as a B.A. in History with a minor in Military Science from California Polytechnic State University. He also completed advanced leadership education at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Guided by his commitment to service and global impact, Coyle contributes invaluable expertise in strategy, leadership, and organizational development to Mission University’s vision of preparing the next generation of healthcare leaders.
